Making cartridges

Cut 4″X4″  pieces of paper  . Roll the papers into large tubes big enough to fit at least your thumb in it. Tape the seam with scotch tape to hold the tube shape. Fold one end of the tube and tape it.  Fill it most of the way up with plain white flour  and tape the top shut. 40 of these should be enough.

Most students will need to make a pair of gaiters. To do this, take a very large pair of plain black socks [white or tan also works] and cut the heel and toe out of them. This allows the gaiters to be slipped on over the shoes. Sew a row of 6 small brass buttons on the outer calf of each sock from the knee to the ankle. Or a row of six pennies, hot-glued to each sock will also work well. Worn over the shoes.
