Landforms sculpture

May 27, 2012

Your students will enjoy making all of the landforms that they learn about on this sculpture.  Cook up some clay (recipe to follow) and shape it onto a cardboard square.  After the landforms have dried, the students paint it using watercolors and then add on the paper labels.  The sculpture has cave, volcano, plateau,  mesa, desert, beach, grassland, valley, and mountain range.

Stove-Top Play Dough

1 c. flour

1 c. water

¼ c. salt

1 tbsp. oil (cooking or baby oil)

2 tbsp. cream of tartar

Mix ingredients in a saucepan.  Cook and stir over medium heat until it’s just like play dough (not gooey).  Let cool and store in a zip-lock bag.

Preschool Adress/Phone Number Placemat

May 27, 2012

This is an easy little placemat that you can make for each child at preschool.  I tried to leave some of the information on this placemat so that you can see where the information is placed, but had to block out some to protect the student.  Anyway, the student’s name goes at the top.  Under the phone put their phone number and then under their house you put their address. The students can review this information each time they have snack at school.
